Traffic Control Services & Equipment (TCS&E) was founded by Eric Patterson, whose hands-on experience, grit, and dedication laid the foundation for what the company is today. With a deep understanding of field operations and an unwavering commitment to quality, Eric built TCS&E to serve North Carolina’s growing need for dependable traffic control services — with safety, reliability, and responsiveness at its core. Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Eric brings a Southern work ethic and a steady leadership style that has earned him respect across the industry. Now based in North Carolina, he continues to inspire the team with his practical knowledge, approachable nature, and passion for building things that last — both in business and in life. When he’s not focused on traffic control logistics or supporting crews in the field, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife Krysti and their three children, Alex, Collin, and Georgia. A lifelong car enthusiast, Eric is also passionate about restoring classic vehicles — a hobby that reflects the same patience, precision, and pride he brings to the job every day.
Carrying forward the standards that Eric built into the company, Mikey Shultz now leads day-to-day operations as the new face of TCS&E. With deep roots in the eastern North Carolina construction industry, Mikey brings decades of experience in asphalt, pavement marking, and job site safety — including the critical role of traffic control across projects large and small. Mikey’s reputation is built on reliability, hustle, and a boots-on-the-ground approach. He understands what contractors need in the field because he’s been there himself. Whether it’s planning a complex closure or supporting a last-minute emergency callout, Mikey makes sure the job gets done right. Beyond the job site, Mikey shares a passion with Eric that helped forge their connection — restoring and customizing vintage vehicles. It’s this shared appreciation for detail, design, and performance that reflects the heart of TCS&E: a company that still believes in pride of work, trust earned through action, and building something worth passing on.
